Bed bugs are extremely efficient at finding harborage areas that are difficult to locate. Professionally trained handlers work with canines that have been bred specifically for scent detection.

CANINE PRO’S

Canines can be an effective tool for locating bed bug harborage areas and confirming whether or not bed bugs are actually present. Properly trained canine teams can be an effective resource in bed bug detection.

CANINE CON’S

Not all canine teams are certified. Certification is issued to canine teams that have proven that they can locate bed bugs, as well as being able to differentiate between the scent of live bed bugs and dead ones. However, even a bed bug team that has been certified is never going to be 100% accurate.
